Harold Camping, a co-founder of Family Radio, exemplified how ordinary people, like you or I, can be used mightily by the Lord if they are willing to let God direct their lives. Jesus reminds us in John 15:5:
I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in Me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without Me ye can do nothing.
Harold Egbert Camping was born on July 19, 1921, in Denver, Colorado. His parents, Ralph and Trina Camping, came from the Netherlands (his mother from Friesland, and his father from Groningen), but they first met each other in the United States in Denver, where they married. Then during the depression years, they relocated to Bellflower, California, where they settled. They had five sons: Ralph, Harold, Cornelius, John, and Bill.
